An experienced educational administrator, Sue Starr served as principal of Northeast Middle and High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from 2015 to 2018. Under principal Sue Starr’s leadership, Northeast Middle and High School was named a National Academy Foundation (NAF) Model School two years in a row.

NAF brings educators together with business and community leaders to ensure that high school students graduate ready for ongoing success in the professional and academic arenas. As part of these efforts, the organization stresses the importance of a solid STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.

Through its STEM Advisory Committee, NAF draws upon the expertise of top executives in leading STEM companies to gain a better understanding of current needs in STEM fields. The committee meets periodically to help NAF develop and adjust the strategies for its STEM curriculum and professional development initiatives, keeping them aligned with professional standards and requirements. Committee members also develop STEM-focused employee engagement programs and provide support to NAF’s various financial and expansion initiatives.
